Anyway, we didn't do a whole lot this weekend I don't think. Sunday we got to church a whole half hour early because Ricky was ushering. Chase didn't do very well for me though. I had to go to the nursing mom's room with him and Joanna because he just wanted to run around and be crazy during worship. We just did nothing Sunday afternoon and evening.
Yesterday I drove down to the NJ with the kids. I left a little before 9:00am and stopped in at the Church to see Mom and Dad around 10:30am. I didn't hit any traffic on the way down so that was nice. I stayed at the church for maybe an hour to nurse Joanna and mom and dad sat and talked to me while I nursed her. We went to the church nursery and Chase pulled out all the toys to play with. He cleaned them up very slowly and with some help from mommy and Grammy. It was nice to see mom and dad a little bit.
After Joanna was done nursing I drove to the Roberts house to see my friend Debbie and her family. She lives in Ohio now and I hadn't seen her for a year and a half! She has two kids as well. Alex is 3 and Danica is 1. Both of her kids are so cute and Alex is really fun. He talks very well for a 3 year old. Chase was a little shy at first and Alex kept going over to him and saying, "Hi, do you want to play? Hi." It was very cute. Chase eventually warmed up.

Chase eventually warmed up.They were really funny blowing the train whistles. They almost look like they could be the same age but Alex is obviously more advanced in many ways. We all ate lunch together and then sat and talked for a little. Alex was nice enough to share his crackers with Chase.
We went outside and walked around the Roberts land for a little bit too. They have 6 acres of beautiful farm land. I remember walking around and exploring their land when we were little kids too.
Mr. Roberts found a bounce house that they had in their basement and set it up for the kids to play in. Chase and Alex loved it and kept crawling out and then running around to get in the other side and doing it again. Danica liked being in there too!
I left at 3:30pm and made it all the way home without having to stop once! I wanted to stay longer but I really didn't want to hit traffic on the Schuylkill and Chase was really tired. He fell asleep 2 seconds down the road. However he woke up while I was on the Schuylkill and never fell back asleep. When I got home I tried to lay him down for a nap but he didn't fall asleep then either. He wasn't too bad that night though. I got home a little after 5:00pm and actually beat Ricky home so that made me very happy. It was so nice to see Debbie though and catch up a little.
So today we are going to spend recuperating from our adventure. I need to do some more laundry too, of course. That is the chore that never ends.

That looks like it was a fun day for everyone, but the kids sure didn't want their pictures taken at the end of it. They're still cute, though!
Love,
Mom
Isn't it fun to meet old friends that you hardly ever see? I have a friend in Big Valley, that we used to be together every week end. I either went along home with her after church or she went with me. When we dated it was double dating. Grandpa and I had to "spoil" it by moving to Berks County! Every time we see each other, we can just talk as if we saw each other every day. It is a special friendship. By the way I love the pics of the kids.
Long friendships are great and the kids looked like they had a fun time. How do you just happen to have a bounce house in the basement? That's an awesome play toy for the kids. You were blessed to be able to get the whole way home without stopping. Sounds like you timed it right with Joanna. Laundry laundry laundry - always more laundry.
I enjoy reading your blog. Chase and Joanna are really cute. Looks like you are doing well adjusting to your growing family. Laundry . . . yes, I know exactly what you mean!
look at all those cute kids.... haha.
It was so great to see you! I'm glad you were able to come and see us. Joanna is beautiful- I'm so glad I got to see her in real life. I'll be putting up the same(ish)pictures very soon!
