How to Make Amy's Energy Sustaining Breakfast Bars

Need more energy(who doesn't) here is a fun recipe for some all natural energy bars. Most of these ingredients can be found in your grocery store. You can substitute ground flax seeds for whole if you don't like picking seeds out of your teeth. They taste kind of like a cliff bar but sweeter and yummier.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups Old fashioned organic quick oats
1/2 c Whole flax seed
1/4 c Organic dark cocoa powder
1/2 c natural peanut butter
1/2 c Honey
1/2 tsp Spirulina
3/4 c Hot water
Directions:
stir ingredients together:
Put a generous spoonful into a snack baggie and have your toddler smash into flat bars:
(this is a very important step in the process, if you don't have a toddler you should go find one to borrow. When he is not looking fix them so they are uniform.)
Keep in the freezer and enjoy at your leisure.
Ta Dah!
P.S. Chase really likes eating these too and calls them his Chocolate breakfast bars.

Thanks for sharing Amy. I'll definitely make these... especially if they're sweeter than Cliff bars. They don't quite satisfy my sweet tooth :)

I have never been able to find spirulina in the grocery store but if you know of a nutrition/health food store near you they would have it. I also make them without the spirulina if I don't have it on hand (forgot to mention that).
