Phantastic Phills!

I stayed up and watched the whole Phillies game last night. It was so exciting but it wasn't over until 12:09am! That was kinda dumb but I couldn't help myself.
Anyway... About our weekend. On Thursday evening Ricky and Chad drove up to Sheila's family cabin in Woodward, PA. The next morning Sheila and I drove up with the kids. We left around 10:00am and got there at 2:00pm. We stopped for lunch at this really tiny restaurant and poor Chase had an accident while we were standing there ordering our food. I felt so bad because he had been telling me he had to go potty but I wasn't listening to him and he was so embarrassed. When we got to the cabin the guys were there waiting to say hi to us and help us unpack. This cabin has been in Sheila's family since 1952 or so.
They've been doing some remodeling lately so there was no heat while we were there. We just kept a fire going the whole time and it got pretty warm in there. Sheila and I went on a bunch of walks and played games the whole weekend. I kept forgetting to take my camera with me on our walks but the leaves were so beautiful. Joanna was sick or fighting a cold, because she wanted me to hold her all night both nights we were there. I didn't get much sleep the first night but I was so tired the next night I just slept while I was nursing her. She seems to be feeling better now but now Chase is sick today.
Saturday Sheila and I took the kids to an Apple harvest festival in the town formerly known as Fremont. It took us a while to find it but we eventually did and it was kinda neat. There were little kids games and Chase caught an alligator.
We ate lunch there and got some really good apple cider. We were swarmed by bees because of the cider and Chase was trying to smash them! We also watched a tractor pull a little bit. We got home Sunday around 4:00, just in time to watch the eagles:) We had a really nice weekend though.
Yesterday My sister, Dawn and my Mom came over to help me with my garden and yard work. Dawn came over around 10:30am and we did a whole load of Corn stalk and other weeds on the pickup truck and unloaded before my mom got here a little before noon. We then took a little lunch break and then went back to work out side. We wore ourselves out though. It's a lot of work and very tiring work too.
We got a lot done but it's still not finished. I worked out on the strawberry patch for an hour this morning and then did some raking this afternoon. I'm going to try and do yard work as much as I can this week and try and get finished with the garden so we can plow it. It was so nice to have the help from Dawn and Mom though. I was so thankful. I got some really nice pictures of Chase and Joanna and Mom together.
Our neighbors on the one side of us have a really nice garden and he planted Cock's Comb (or Hock's Comb) this year and apparently had too much of it so he said I could cut some and have it if I wanted. I decided to make this table arrangement with it. It looks like fall.
I think that's the news for now.

Wow, Amy, Rod said you are his kind of Philly fan. You stayed up to watch the Phillies and came home in time for the Eagles. Then he said "Man Ricky sure is lucky to have a wife who likes to watch Philly sports with him." I guess you can tell I don't anymore. I used to but I've had enough of that to last a lifetime. Now I find other things to do with my time. Sounds like a fun weekend and a good day of work in the garden with family. Don't you just love working outside?

Great update, Amy. I keep telling your Mom she should come and help me with my weeding, but she won't! Hey, I also like the doily on the table under your arrangement. Who made it for you? Your little ones are so cute. The cabin you stayed at was nice. Pine Knot where I like to go was in our family since the 1940s. Going to the mountain is so relaxing. I love it.

Is that a camouflaged ergo that Ricky has on?

I thought you made that doily, Grandma. If it wasn't you than I don't remember who it was, I know it was a wedding gift though. I love when Ricky puts the kids in his coveralls. I have a picture of him with Dominic like that when Dominic was little. If they made camo ergo's I would definetly have to get one, maybe Ricky would actually use it then.

sounds like a fun weekend=) Fall is such a beautiful season. Wow that sounds like lots of hard work you did this week. What a blessing to have family to help you along.

Amy, If I made that doily it wasn't as a wedding gift. I made you the quilt for your weddin g gift. Remember? Aunt Rita gave you a doily and a crystal bowl, but the doilies she usually gives are with hearts crocheted in the pattern.
