Happy Aunt Amy and Yellow Tommy Toes

Yesterday afternoon I finally was able to see my new niece Kira. She's a week and a half old.

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to see her since D and T don't want kids around her for 6 weeks. So yesterday afternoon Rochelle (Patty and Dexter's niece) came over as soon as I laid the kids down for their naps and I left to drive to my sister's. I got there around 3:30 and only stayed until 4:10 but it was so nice to see her. I was beaming the whole way home. Dawn and I went on a walk with her and I got to hold her the whole time on the walk and she fell asleep. It's crazy because I know everyone always says, "oh, I forgot how small they are" But seriously, I forgot how small they are! She smelled so good and made all sorts of cute little noises, I was just enraptured with her, she is so cute.

(big yawn)
I got home a little after 5:00 and Joanna was so excited to see me and gave me a big hug (she gives really good hugs). She did so good the whole time I was gone and didn't cry or fuss at all for Rochelle or Ricky. Although poor Ricky had to change a poopy diaper, but he did it without much complaining (don't tell him but I thought it was really funny).
Continuing with the "happy theme"... Joanna has slept very good the last two nights and only woken up one time. I don't know why she's been sleeping good but I really hope she keeps doing that, it feels so good to get more sleep.
So yesterday before I left I had picked my tomatoes and gotten 12 lbs. I didn't have time to do anything with them yesterday so first thing this morning I did a batch of soup to freeze which turned out really good. It looks like squash soup or something since it's yellow but it it so good and creamy. It's going to be so good this winter.

So after I was done with the batch of soup I fed everyone lunch, laid the kids down for naps and then went outside to cut my meadow tea. I decided to take my tomato basket and pick the few that I thought might be ready while I was out there. Well I ended up getting another 12 lbs! So after I finished tying all my tea and hanging it I did another whole batch of tomato soup.
I finally finished all my work around 7:00, phew. I should sleep good tonight. I think I'll make spaghetti sauce with the next couple batches of tomatoes.
Also I got a very special delivery from diapers.com the other day :)

oh I can't wait to meet my niece! How fun!
I think babies like that look giant. Is that sad? She's super cute though and I'm so glad you got to meet her! and kidless- woohoo!
When I plant my garden- hopefully next summer, you'll need to send me all your fabulous recipes for things like your soup, and ketchup, etc.
Didn't I tell you once you figured out her allergies, she would sleep better? How is all that going, by the way?
I love your package. Babies do come in the mail, I dont know what people are thinking otherwise. too cute :)

That is so funny that diapers.com sends out two cute little kids. Isn't it funny that kids like to play with boxes? With all your tomato soup are you also making ketchup? I don't use much ketchup but when I do, I want it to be my home made kind. I was over at Erik's a little yesterday afternoon and held Wesley awhile. He is also cute. Aren't they all?

I love your kids in the box. That was one of my guys favorite "toys" when they were little.
