Last Tuesday, the 7th of August, we went to Pottery Works in the city of Lancaster. It was such a cute little place and we had a lot of fun! We went with a small group and they had a private room set up for us. The kids were able to look through a bunch of different, pre-made figurines and pick one to paint.
They had to paint their figurine with 3 coats of paint... Listening to instructions:

Katy liked painting her elephant... but she also liked painting table and Chase's dinosaur too :P
Joanna picked out a unicorn:
I had to help the girls cover their figures completely but they weren't fans of me helping so I had to do it stealthily :P
Chase picked out a little stegosaurus and painted the whole thing by himself.
And Dominic picked out a soccer kid:
we had to leave our painted figures there (which the kids protested) so the staff could glaze them and then fire them in the kiln. Patty is going back some time this week to pick them up, I can't wait to see the finished products!
After pottery works we walked down the street to Central Market. I had never been there before and it was a very interesting place. Patty informed me that it was the oldest market in the country! I hadn't brought a lot of cash with me so I wasn't able to buy much, the kids each got a cookie and we got a brownie to share between all of us after lunch, but I stood at one stand and lusted after their fresh mozzarella balls for a while, everything looked so good!
We then walked over to a little park area and ate our lunches. and then let the kids play in the fountain, splash area for a while.

The Pottery Works looks like a very fun place, and the kiddos' creations look great - I can't wait to see the finished products!
I'm glad you enjoyed Central Market! I really need to go there sometime. You would think that growing up in the county I would've been there at least once, but no. I need to change that haha!
Haha! Don't worry, I don't think Ricky has ever been there either and he was born and raised Lancaster countian... I guess it's just much easier to go to green dragon :P
it was an interesting place though. I forgot to take any pictures while we were in there.
