We had pizza and wings with them for lunch and then Ricky and Keith finished up the door around 2 in the afternoon. They did a fantastic job and it looks so much better than the old falling apart door! I should have taken some pictures but I never think of it while they are here because there's always so much going on!
After nap time we took the kids and Dominic to the park nearby and played roller hockey with the boys. I found my roller blades in the attic the other week and had a blast racing around and playing as well. Ricky and I were against Dominic and Chase, Joanna was helping me as well and very determined about it! After the big kids wore themselves out we took the little kids to the playground area.
This little girl was being chased by two mountain lions (aka. Chase and Dominic)!
It's a good thing she has a big strong daddy to protect her :)
There was a beautiful sunset and I tried to get a picture but this definitely doesn't do it justice.
Sunday we went on a hike at French Creek state game lands area. It was a little chillier than the day before but still nice and we warmed up on our walk.
our funny explorer dog, she loves hiking and always stays very close to us:
Katy wanted to walk as much as possible although it wasn't always the best because of underbrush or mud or whatnot. She's one tough cookie though!
Poor Joanna found a tick crawling on her and had a major freak out. I was holding Bolt a little on the way home and then had one crawling on me, I was pretty sure it came from her, but that was the only two we saw.
watching the stream a little after our hike and wondering if there was any fish in there...
The hike wore this little doggie out!:
In the evening Ricky got a call from his friend Chad saying that he had 4 extra tickets to the Hershey Bears game that evening, and did we want them? Well he called at 4 and the game started at 5! Ricky rushed around to get ready and then took Chase and Dominic with him to the game. It sounded like they had a lot of fun even though the Bears lost.
The girls and I planted the strawberry plants I had gotten the other day in pots and then decided to walk to the park. There was a ton of people there and it was a lot of fun :) I had totally forgot that we went on a long hike that morning and so the walk home seemed like a really long one!
look out, 4 year old on the loose with a cannon! :P
In the evening I was able to finish the crocheted blanket that I had been working on for Joanna!
It's hard to tell how big it is but it's really huge and soft and cuddly! I was so excited to finish it :) I put it on her before I went to bed so she would wake up with it on and then THIS little girl came down in the morning with it :P
ha ha, whoops! I quickly took it and put it back on Joanna before she woke up. She was/is so excited about it!
She carries it all over the house all day and sleeps under it at night.
and has picnics on it :Pof course I felt bad then that Katy didn't have a blanket and so decided to make one for her as well! I must be a glutton for punishment or something.
actually this pattern I found is much faster and I had enough yarn leftover from Joanna's blanket so I thought, why not?! I should actually be finished with it today some time!
Three random pictures that don't have anything to do with this post...
Katy looking super adorable sleeping with her teddy:
I usually give them haircuts myself but I thought it would be nice to have a break from it this time. They did a really nice job too!
