The Roses are blooming!

Whoopsie!  Looks like I accidentally hit "publish" last night when I meant to hit "save" and add words today :P
Well, anyhoo...  The puppies finally decided to start venturing out of their "den" the other day!
Of course they just came out to sleep though.  They're a little over 3 weeks old now, so still not very playful.
but still adorable!
I'm really pleased with how good this litter looks.  They are so chubby and happy looking!
This one is fuzzy but I liked his expression for some reason :P
I decided it was time for some puppy snuggles last night before bed and held the girl puppy while watching TV a little last night.  Big Yawn!:
Poor Ricky was pretty wiped out after a long week of work.  We're excited about him having a 4 day weekend though!  The kids are always so happy when daddy is home with us!
Joanna had her very last gymnastics class yesterday.  They had an awards ceremony and gave trophies to the kids that had been there for every class, all year long.  Joanna got a certificate because we had signed up for it halfway through the year.  I felt really bad because she was sad she didn't get a shiny sparkly trophy but she put on a brave face and finished out her last class with a smile!
I really like this place though.  They have a neat program going.  I think we might sign up Katy and Joanna in September for classes.
They had a ceremony and let the parents and other kids come out on the floor to watch and take pictures.
It sure felt like summer the last few days!  The kids and I ran out to Walmart on Wednesday to get a pool.  They've been putting it to good use since then too!
My roses have started blooming!  They are still loaded with buds so pretty soon it is going to look very awesome out there :)  This bloom is from my one lone Knockout Bush:
I like the knockout roses because they get big and bushy and blooms all over but the flowers don't smell like REAL roses.
Now THIS is a real rose:
How cunningly nature hides every wrinkle of her inconceivable antiquity under roses and violets and morning dew! ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
"I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck."
We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses
~Abraham Lincoln
I don't know whether nice people tend to grow roses or growing roses makes people nice.
~ Roland A Beowne
My Campanula has started blooming as well too.  The whole green mat will get loaded with the pretty bell shaped flowers.
I think one of the best things about having a garden is bringing in colorful, beautiful bouquets to brighten up your house:
The chives make nice cut flowers and I'm sure they will last a long time as well:
Joanna told me the other day that she really needed a backpack for her little bumblebee stuffed animal.  I had had an idea of how to make a backpack for a while now so I decided to use up some of my huge stash of scrap yarn and make her one.  I'm really pleased with how it came out!

It has a cinch top and is very easy for her to use and wear.  Obviously she can keep more things in it besides her bumblebee but that's all she wanted to use it for, for now :P
I was thinking about decorating it with some flowers or hearts or even her name but I'm not sold on that idea yet.  I think I like it just like it is.
I used two strands of yarn together...
Nice and big for holding lots of treasures!
I was considering adding it to my shop but not sure about that either.  I'm currently working on one for Katy and then Chase will get one as well :)
I had my hanging baskets down the other night just in case we had bad storms (we didn't) and decided to photograph the geraniums a little.
pretty...
the hanging tomato plants have a lot of blooms on them now too!
and just a couple more roses, after the rain:
My deep red roses haven't opened up yet so there will be more rose pictures to come....
