Christmas2013

Christmas day we spent with Ricky's family pretty much all day.  We went over to his parents house for brunch in the morning (yum, brunch!) and then opened presents and hung out for a while.  We Came home for a little in the afternoon so we could let the dogs out and Katy could take a nap and then around 3pm my parents stopped by!  They had decided that they wanted to visit each of us girls for a little bit on Christmas since they didn't have any other plans.  It was nice to visit with them a little bit.  This picture cracks me up. Katy had just woken up from her nap and usually needs a little time after but, poor thing, we didn't give it to her.  And Peaches is crawling up my mom's back and mom is just trying to politely ignore her (she's not a dog person!) haha. Ahh, life. :P
We went back over to Ricky's parent's house in the evening for a dinner of soup and sandwiches and then played a game of Scategories before heading home to bed.
Ricky had off the whole week between Christmas and New Years this year and it was so nice to have him with us.  That Saturday we went up to my Aunt and Uncle's house for a mini extended family get together.  We had pizza for lunch and got to chat with lots of family we hadn't seen in a while. It was so nice.
My family decided to have our Christmas celebration on New Year's eve day this year.  My Grandma Yoder said she'd like to join us this year so I drove up Monday night to get her so I wouldn't have to wake up super early the next morning.  The kids love their Grandma Yoder and were so excited that she was sleeping over with us :)  They had her read them some books...
And the girls had a tea party with her before all going to bed.  We had brunch with my family as well and so we had to leave fairly early the next morning to get down there on time.
We had such a wonderful time of fellowship and fun... the food was really good too, of course :P
Grandma and Grandpa Wallin joined us too!
After brunch we opened presents.  The siblings exchanged names for all the kids and my parents got them all presents as well, so they got quite a lot of things.
Chase got a lot of Davy Crockett themed stuff, which he was super excited about.  I think we watched part of the movie when we got home that evening.
Joanna looked fabulous in her new, blinged out cowgirl hat :)  It also has a switch that turns on flashing lights on the front, haha!
The "grown-ups" did a white elephant exchange that was a lot of fun!  After that we all just sat around and talked, snacked and played games until it was time to go.
