[it was free bat giveaway day]
Katy looked so cute in her Phillies hat but she didn't want to wear it the whole time. Ricky and I were worried about taking her because he was only given 4 tickets but it ended up working out in the end. I called the stadium ahead of time and asked them if it would be ok for her to sit on my lap, their website says children over 3 must have their own tickets. The man said, "sure, that's fine. If they give you trouble at the gate just say she's 2." haha! I couldn't believe that he said that! No one ended up even asking about her which I was thankful for because I didn't want to lie. Then we got to our seats and I sat her down in the seat next to mine until the other people arrived. Well when the other people finally showed up the one woman informed me that she had bought 4 tickets and since there was only 2 of them there we could use that extra seat!
Katy ended up spending most of the time laying on the ground under my chair though, hahaha!
It was a perfect day for a ballgame, if not a little hot, but we got some water ices to cool ourselves down and that helped a lot. Poor Joanna didn't have a hat or sunglasses and couldn't see well with how bright it was so I gave her my sunglasses and she looked super cute in them and was much happier :)
Chase and Joanna would go stand at the wall at the end of every inning and try and catch the ball that the players would typically flip up into the throng of kids standing there. The one time the base coach saw Joanna, smiled, pointed at her and rolled the ball to her over the dugout... however she looked away right when he did that and another kid snatched it up quick.
But Ricky ended up catching a ball that was flipped up and over the kids' heads by Ryan Howard!
It was a pretty great day and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Ricky was also excited about seeing Jim Jackson in a booth, he's the announcer for the Flyers... doesn't he look excited? Haha! :)
