The first half of this week I was in the midst of a mini bathroom makeover, and I do mean mini because our bathroom is TINY. I don't know what came over me but I was suddenly inspired to do something about our tiny, ugly bathroom. Actually I had a pint of light gray paint laying around for a while because I've been thinking about repainting the dining room and I decided the gray would look really nice in our bathroom. But then I thought, why stop there? I could paint the vanity and cabinet white and that would look awesome with the gray walls! So I painted, and painted.... and painted some more! The cabinet and vanity took forever because that wood just kept soaking up the paint, I had to do 3 coats and in some spots 4! It does look nice now though and I say it was worth the effort :) I know everyone loves some good before and after photos so without further ado...
Before:
(I also had to fix the spackling in some spots.)
and After:
I can't believe I forgot to get a picture of this vanity before it was painted...
I really love the gray, for some reason I feel like it actually brightens the room up... although it could have to do with the white accents too I guess but it also helps the pink tile not look so bad :P
This cabinet got lots of paint and new pulls as well.
My "shelves" that I installed. They are actually two crates that I got
from Joann Fabrics and then painted... those took 2 coats
The little doodad I made from scrap yarn to hold the kids' flossers. I'm still debating whether I should make a lid for it or not.
I also made the tiny twine bowl here:
This was a gift from my Grandmother, a piece that belonged to my Great Grandmother Katie Emma. I'm so pleased I can have it on display now :)
