Some more October things...

Don't you just love fall colors?!  My friend Sue and I decided to teach a class this Fall semester at our co-op called "Textile Arts". Basically we were just making a bunch of crafts.  We got a lot of ideas from Pinterest  and had lots of fun trying out the projects ahead of time.  For this week we were going to do some leaf art and modpodge them onto canvases so I made a trip to the park to gather a couple bagfuls of leaves to use.  I really should have taken pictures of all their art they were so creative!
Of course every project I did with my class, my own kids also wanted to do :)  Usually I let them try it as long as they helped me gather "supplies" :P
Joanna was very excited about all the "beautiful" leaves!
I had also thought it would be fun to do some paper mache with the kids but after attempting this on my own we nixed the idea.  I ended up with a fun fall decoration though!
More October activities:
Katy worked on perfecting her story telling skills...
I went archery hunting with Ricky a couple of times:
Enjoyed a couple of chilly walks with my fluffy puppy:
She was pretty excited to meet cows for the first time:
and some horses and a mule:
I definitely can't complain about the scenery on my walks! God is good.
I made a couple new, fun crochet things too. Like this rainbow mane unicorn hat:
and this was something new to me called "Tapestry Crochet". I thought it was going to be really difficult but it ended up being pretty easy.  The hardest part was laying out the design before actually getting started.
Katy kept practicing with her roller blades.  I'm amazed at how good she's gotten now!
and Joanna kept working on her crochet skills!
She did all those patches completely on her own and then I stitched them together for her.
And of course lots of leaf raking... and some leaf pile jumping :)
The kids actually are a big help with this!
The girls job is to pack down the leaves in the back of the truck.
Nobody said they couldn't have fun while doing it :)
