Busy Weekend

I thought this comic was funny. Can you read it?

So we actually had a really busy weekend here. Friday I was able to clean my house. Yeah! It was such a mess in here. Of course the clean didn't last long though. It's a mess again now. A mom's work is never done.

Saturday we went to Ricky's work company picnic at Knobel's Grove. I had decided a while ago not to go because I didn't think I would be up for it but all last week I had been silently lamenting that decision. Ricky came home on Friday afternoon and said, "Are you sure you don't want to go tomorrow?" I said, "yes, I do want to go!" I did not like the thought of staying at home all day and not doing anything, again. So we all piled into the Jetta and headed to the amusement park! It was a really far drive. I don't know if I would have gone if I knew how long it was going to take to get there. On the way up it took us 3 hours! Yikes! We stopped at Cabela's for 1/2 hour so I could nurse Joanna though. When we stopped at Cabela's Ricky went to take Chase out of his car seat and couldn't find his shoes. Uh Oh. We both had forgotten to put shoes on the boy! Ricky had to buy him shoes in Cabela's and all they had were $30 Crocs. We were off to a great start. Anyway we finally did get to the park around 3:00 and had a lot of fun. I was walking around with Jo in the Ergo the whole time and everyone who saw us were oohing and awwing over the tiny baby. I actually talked to some interesting people too. There was a lady from Alaska and someone else who was pregnant with her 2ND and going to attempt a VBAC. I was talking to her for a while about that and wish I had gotten her e-mail address. It sounded like her care provider wasn't very supportive of her attempting it. So sad! Chase had a blast too. Ricky went on a few rides with him and I actually got to go on one ride with him as well. He wasn't scared of them at all either. He just said, "fast," and "fun". He's so great. Oh, he's bald again too.

We got home Saturday night around 9:30 which wasn't too bad. I felt like I had been hit by a truck in the morning though. Once I got my coffee I felt better though.

We actually made it to church again on Sunday. Last week when we were there it seemed a lot of people were on vacation so it was nice to see out friends and show off Joanna. Everyone from our church has been so generous with providing meals too. We have meals coming until the 22ND! Wow! Sunday afternoon I tried to nap but that is more frustrating than restful I think. We watched the Phillies win and then Chad and Shiela came over and ate dinner with us. Chad and Ricky were playing with Chase's hockey net for a while and then Chad and Chase were playing and running around the house like a couple of lunatics:) It was really funny.

Today I am trying to get my laundry done. This blog took me all day so I hope you have enjoyed it:) Patty stopped by with Dominic and Abigale (Dexter's niece who is staying with them all summer) for a little this morning. I'd like to go get food and maybe get adjusted this afternoon but I don't think I'm going to make it.

Ok I know you are going to disagree with me but I think Joanna looks like me a little bit. I think she has a longer face like me and she has my lips. Don't let the dark hair fool you. She started being awake a lot more the last couple of days and has been smiling at me which makes me very happy. She is so cute!

If you want any of these bushes I think they need to be taken very soon. We are planning on having our tree cut down on the 26Th and they may or may not survive that.

By the way if anybody knows of someone trying to get rid of a double jogging stroller... I would be interested in it. I'm itching to start jogging again. I'd like to be able to do some races this fall but I don't know if maybe that would be pushing it. We'll have to see how I feel once I start again, then I will be able to judge better if I can work up to 5k in a couple months or not. Don't worry, I'm not going to start jogging now, I'm just thinking about it.

It was so good to see you on Saturday. I will try to post my pics tonight.
Also you said you would like to have some black raspberries. If you want them I have a couple young ones that are coming up in the grass. If you don't want them I will try to put them in my patch.
Chase looked so cute on his rides.
"Talk" to you later. Grandma

Hey Amy! I think we may be interested in some bushes...how many? How would we even go about transporting something like that?!? Chase is looking so big--and it sounds like you're adjusting so well!! xoxo K

Good for you getting out and about. Looks like you all had a great time.
Your story about forgetting Chase's shoes reminds me of when we drove up for Grandpa's funeral. When we got up to Hamburg, we realized Mark did not have shoes - and he was 10 at the time. That's pretty bad. The boys had all got themselves into the truck and some were in the back so we didn't know it till we got there.
Joanna looks so alert in the pic that Grandma put on her blog. She is adorable. I'm not sure about who she looks like, to me she looks like Chase.
I'd love to have one of your bushes, but I won't be able to get up there in the next couple weeks so I guess I'll have to pass.

I cant believe she's smiling already! That's great!
I also cant believe you are thinking about jogging again already. recovery from Danica was super easy- but I definitely was not thinking about any extra physical activity until she was a few months old.
I think she does look like you a little bit. Enough to say that she will a lot more once she grows out of the super newborn stage. And I just noticed that she doesnt really have eyebrows. :) She's super cute... I cant wait to meet her!
