Thursday, Ricky got home from work early and we went over to the Terre Hill Days and walked around there for a while. Terre Hill Days is like a very small town fair. there are a few carnival rides and some food vendors and game booths and a lot of community activities all weekend. We got some funnel cake and an ice cream cone and won a cup at the dime toss then headed home.
I don't think we did anything exciting on Friday. This morning we all woke up at 7:00am and took Chase over to a kid's 1/2 mile fun run. We decided the other night to enter him and see if he would run in it. I "ran" behind him and he ran the whole way! He kept saying, "run, fast. run, fast." At the end he was getting tired and slowing down and then everyone started cheering for him and he started running really fast then. It was so cute and funny and I was so mad because my camera battery died and I didn't get any pictures at all! Ricky and I were so proud of him though. He drank two cups of Gatorade afterward. Maybe next year he'll do the 5 mile race with me:) We all went out for breakfast afterwards then. He finished the race dead last but was the youngest kid to finish the whole thing. These pictures were taken this evening. He's holding his number and his ribbon that he won and then he is "running fast".
He's not wearing pants because he had sat in water and then in his sand box and pants are highly overrated in Chase-land.
This afternoon My childhood chum Joanna Reamer came to visit! It was so nice to see her. She got here around one. We had to wait until Chase woke up and then we went over to the Terre Hill Days again for the candy drop. These two little airplanes flew over and dropped candy in a field and then the kids would run and pick it up. Joanna helped Chase pick up the candy. We walked around a little after the candy drop but it was so hot it was almost unbearable. Plus I had Baby Joanna in the Ergo and was sweating just standing still. We got back and Ricky made us burgers on the grill. Joanna had to leave right after dinner but it was so nice to have her here and catch up and reminisce. We used to have so much fun growing up together and had lots of adventures. We were neighbors so we would play together every day! Here are some pics from the candy drop. Can you find Chase?
This outhouse thing was from an outhouse race that they had down the middle of main street today at 1:00pm. I didn't go to watch because Chase was napping but Ricky went and said it was hilarious. There were 5, 4 man teams that made their own outhouses and pushed them in the race. One person would sit inside. How crazy!
There are going to be fireworks tonight at 10:00pm. I'm not sure if we'll go or not but it would be fun to.
Oh I forgot to say... Thursday I took Joanna to the Dr. because she had some eye goop that was concerning me and she now weighs 10 pounds! Wow!

I love your blog as always. I can't believe you do so much and yet you feed Joanna and apparantly she gets plenty to eat. Ten pounds! Great. And Chase is such a cutie. I just got back from Pine Knot, downloaded my pics on the computer and forget what to do next! I'm afraid Toot is busy with her company. I'll talk to you later. Grandma
Pants are overrated! Not just in Chase--land... Ohio too! We (*the kids*) are very often without pants as well. :)
You have the most beautiful babies, Amy. Seriously.
And I'm glad Joanna got to come visit you guys! That reminds me that I never responded to your email- So sorry!... I think we wont be able to make it out to your house- as much as I would LOVE to see it! We are already going to be driving more than we ever have in one trip those 2 weeks...ugh. So we are going to try to stay put as much as possible once we are in the right states. Did that make any sense?
I agree with Deb...your kids are beautiful and also talented. Chase is taking after his mother and aunt and pop-pop with his running. And he's only 2. Maybe he'll make the Olympics some day.
Love,
Mom
Talk about determination in such a little one. That is great. Again good for you for getting back in the swing of things so quickly. It's good for your body. Those outhouse races sound like a hoot.
