I feel like I say this all the time now but we had another busy week last week. Wednesday and Thursday were pretty much spent recuperating from our trip to NJ on Tuesday. Chase was so whiny all day on Wednesday. I also had a TON of laundry to catch up on. The lady who is buying the puppies came to look at them too. I knew I shouldn't have brought the little girl puppy out because she is very cute and spunky. The lady ended up spending the whole time holding her. Oh, well. We are keeping the little girl puppy. Any suggestions on names? here are a couple pics from earlier in the week. Joanna is definitely growing.
Friday I walked to the bank and post office and township borough office with Chase in the jogging stroller and Joanna in the Ergo. I didn't think it was hot until I started walking. Also this Friday and Saturday there were community wide yard sales so I was looking at some stuff as I walked along. I never really liked yard sales though. Friday night Ricky's parents came over to dig up some of our potatoes. They're all ready right now but they only dug up one row for now. There are a ton of potatoes! Anybody have some good recipe ideas? I was going to make some ketchup and tomato sauce and can it but everyone keeps picking my tomatoes! I don't have to worry about the critters getting into my garden just the in-laws :)hehehe.
Saturday, Christian (my brother-in-law) came over with one of his co-workers to cut down the tree at the side of our driveway. Our friends Chad and Sheila also came over to help and take a bunch of firewood. Sheila, Chase, Ricky's dad and I all sat on the porch most of the morning and watched them work. It was pretty amazing watching Christian climb around in that tree like a monkey.
I think if Ricky had to do that every day I would be pretty nervous. Ricky had given Chase some earplugs and he really liked them but had them in backwards most of the day.

Sheila and I went to our garden and picked a bunch of corn for lunch and sat and husked it all. For some reason we both broke out in hives all over our arms.
Gee, I hope we have enough.
My sister, Christy came over around lunch time with all 5 of her kids. It was so nice to see them all again. I was amazed at how different Patrick is from the last time I had seen him. It seems like he is making a lot of progress. Chase was really excited that there were a lot of kids for him to play with too. I felt bad because I had to lay him down at 2:00 for his nap and when he woke up they had already left and he walked all around the house looking for them :( poor guy. I made turkey burgers on the grill, corn on the cob and we had sun chips. I was all worried about not having enough food but there was soooo much left over. Hardly anybody ate the corn! I cut it all of the cob after then and put it in the freezer. I had one cob and it was so good and juicy. We all had ice cream cones after lunch too. I had brewed 4 gallons of meadow tea in the morning and they were all gone after lunch! It was a very fun day. Christy and her clan left around 3:00 and Christian wasn't finished till 5:30. It's so nice to have the tree gone. It was making such a mess all over the place. Here is a before and after picture and then some more of them working.
There were a lot of bird's nests in the tree. This one had 4 eggs in it. The birds were pretty upset with us, sorry:(
We made it to church yesterday morning and then came home and watched the Phillies and took naps. In the evening we went to Ricky's grandparent's house to show them Joanna. They hadn't seen her yet so were happy that we came. Ricky's grandpa is still on dialysis. It seems like he is doing ok though, a bit weak.
Well I think that is the news for now.

Hey,
I love the picture of Joanna. She is growing into a little chub!
Love,
Mom
Mondays are my favorite because you (almost) always post on Mondays. :)
I agree with your mom. Chubby babies are the best! Your family is so cute. Chase is looking so old these days... you know- older than 2 at least.
It looks like that was quite the adventure with the tree. I'm glad Christian could do it and you got to see their kids too! Good times.
I love reading your newsy blog. Being busy is much better than being bored. Antone who isn't busy- well, there is no excuse. If you don't have anything to do, you can always volunteer at a nursing home or many other places need help. Talk to you later. Love, Grandma
Hey Amy,
Do you have "wood burning" friends who took away your tree? Sam has a wood burning furnace that is in a building outside that heats both his and Erik's house. They haul in wood from wherever they can get it. That Christian must be related to a monkey!
You are always busy when you have little ones. What am I saying - I don't have little ones and I'm still busy. Must be the Yoder in me!!!! One of these days I'll catch up with posting on my blog
