Choo- Choo Train!

Yesterday morning, Patty called me and asked me what I had planned for the day. I told her all of the ambitious thing that I had planned and she was very impressed. She said, "Oh well I guess you don't have time to go with me and Dominic to the Strasburg Railroad?" "Yes I do", I said, and off we went, completly ignoring all my chores that needed doing.
I had never been to the Strasburg Railroad before and Chase loves trains. We left at 10:00am and got home a little after 3:00pm. When we got there I nursed Joanna in the car a little bit and Patty walked around with Dominic and Chase. She said Chase wanted to get on the train right away and she had to keep telling him that they needed to wait for me. When we finally got on the train he was very serious the whole time but he enjoyed the ride I think.
The ride was 9 miles round trip and we stopped halfway and ate some snacks at a little picnic grove. Patty and I enjoyed the view and Chase and Dominic kept themselves occupied on the playground.

This one guy was nice enough to push the kids on the merry-go-round for a while. After the train ride we went to the choo-choo barn which is a huge indoor miniature train village. It was really neat. Chase loved the one section where PennDot was working.
On the way home we stopped at Burger King and ate a late lunch. We were all really hungry. We finally got home and Chase was so tired. He was able to take a nap and woke up in a little better mood. Patty was nice enough to go to Shady Maple and get me some basil so I could make my tomato sauce. I started it around 5:00pm and finished at 9:30pm.
I decided to freeze it this time. I think my mom might come up next week and help me can ketchup.
I spent the morning doing my laundry and this afternoon I had my appointment at the birth center. Ricky's mom came at 12:30 to stay with Chase while he napped and I went with Joanna to my appointment. I had to stop at Aldi's on the way home to get groceries. So I'm finally getting some stuff done today.

Hey Amy,

That's real cute with your dad's picture behind the tomato sauce. What inspiration.

Glad you had a profitable day.

Love you,
Mom

I bet Chase would enjoy Roadside America here in Shartlesville. A couple years ago, or maybe last year Christy came with her kids and we went to Roadside America. Her kids really enjoyed it, pushing buttons to make the trains go etc. So you are going to have your Mom help you make ketchup. I'm sure this will be new for her too, but more help makes the work go faster.

Isn't Stasburg RR cool. I remember taking our guys there when we only had three. Then there were several school field trips there too. Boys love that stuff.
The tomato sauce looks yummy. You must have a good crop of tomatoes.
