Happenings

Monday night Ricky and I went to a dinner at a nice country club for his work's Foremen and wives. His work started doing this a couple years ago every 6 months or so for all of us. It's really nice. we go to a different restaurant every time and are able to order anything we want. One time I had fillet Mignon and lobster tail(surf and turf), another time we ordered duck another time stuffed salmon, anyway you get the idea. I think it is such a nice treat to go out to eat and order anything your heart desires and not have to pay the bill at the end of it all. So what did I order this time, you ask? How about a very decadent, very expensive... turkey club and french fries???

Everyone thought I was so weird for ordering a $10 sandwich but I really love turkey clubs and hadn't had one for a long time. I have to be different, ya know:) we took Joanna along with us, usually it's no kids allowed, but she has never had a bottle and I didn't feel good about leaving her. She did good until the end when it was getting pretty late and she was tired. We had one room to ourselves and there was one adjacent to ours that was empty and I was able to go in there and nurse her to sleep. It worked very nicely. Chase stayed with Ricky's parents and had a grand ol' time. He was pretty wound up when we picked him up at 9:30pm but went to sleep without any trouble.

Last night We went over to Patty and Dexter's house to celebrate Dominic's 7Th birthday. His birthday was on Saturday but they had been away for the weekend so we did it last night. We had a really fun time. Ricky's dad got Dominic with silly string while we were singing to him. He was aghast.

and then he got him back. Turn about is fair play, right? I went to Weaver's store to get him a gift and had no idea what to get the boy who has every single truck and tractor you can imagine until I saw the Lincoln logs. I used have some growing up and loved them. I remember playing with them for hours.

He opened them and said, "Oh this is just what I was hoping for." I was so happy. Patty said he was playing with them before school today. Joanna was good of course. She was a little fussy and I thought we were going to have to leave but then Dexter held her and she was happy again.

Patty had these punching balloons that she gave the kids after we had cake and ice cream and they were so funny playing with them.

Dominic and Chase were running around like mad men again it's so fun to watch them play together. Chase was actually trying to wrestle with Dominic! Ricky was so proud:)

I don't remember if I mentioned that I started running again. Last week I was able to go out two times and I hope to go at least 3 days this week. It feels so good to get out there again. Yesterday I went a mile and a half and walked half a mile. I was really happy with that. I would still like to get a piece of cardio exquipment for the really cold winter days but so far this is working.

Sounds like you guys are having such a fun week! That turkey club looks so yummy right now- though I probably would have thought you were crazy too.
Who is the extra kid in the last picture? I always forget about Lincoln Logs! We loved them too... do you think they would be safe to have in our house... as in- do they have any little pieces that Danica could choke on if we got them for Alex?

Ricky's cousin's wife was also there with her 3 kids (I forgot to mention that). There are a bunch of little pieces I would probably be nervous about in the lincoln logs, like sign holders and the corner logs, etc. Are our houses ever really safe though?
