"Top Secret" Project

Ok, So I can finally tell you all about my project that I had been working on this last weekend. I painted my kitchen walls and cabinets. The reason why I couldn't say anything before was because I wanted do it as a surprise for Ricky who was hunting in Illinios. I wasn't sure if he would have Internet access there and I also didn't want to announce to the world that he was away and I was home alone for a week. He got back this afternoon so I can show you the before and after pics now.

The wall color is called bitter thyme, I believe, and the cabinets are vanilla cream. I finished the cabinets on Friday night. Ricky's parents came over that night and his dad helped me put all the doors back on the cabinets and his mom watched Joanna. I did the walls yesterday. I was a little shocked about the color at first but I like it a lot now that it's all dry. Ricky noticed I had painted the walls but I needed to tell him about the cabinets:) I'm really happy with it though. It really brightens up the place.
Patty and Dexter took Chase with them on Friday night to a Harvest party at a local church. It was nice of them to take him because I had been having a hard time painting with his trying to "help" all day. They didn't bring him home until 10:00pm but he had a lot of fun.

Ricky didn't get a deer while he was in Illinois but he had a really good time anyway. His friend that he went with got a huge buck. Ricky is already begging to go again next year.

Now we know! Your kitchen looks nice. I'm sorry Ricky didn't get a deer, but it sounds like Chris Jones got one. I bet your kitchen looks nicer "in person" than the pictures. Now what is your next project? See you Monday night

Your kitchen looks great! It really does brighten it up a lot- I wish I could see it in person! I love the green too.

That is funny that Ricky didn't notice the cabinets. Christian said that he thought he probably wouldn't. Men are so funny like that. :)

Wow, what an improvement and what a job. It's so much brighter now. I don't like dark cabinets and was thrilled when we finally got light ones and got rid of the dark ones. You are such a busy little beaver, I bet you don't have trouble sleeping at night. Men are so funny, how could someone not see the difference in the cabinets, but they pretty much are all the same, at least we realize that and know what to expect. Poor Ricky, hopefully he will be more successful with his next hunt.

Yes, I actually thought he might not notice so it was ok. He actually asked me what color the cabinets were before:) He's so funny.

Your cabinets look great! I think I'm going to have to stop checking your blog... you're making me feel guilty b/c you're always doing these major projects around the house like painting, canning, gardening, etc. :) Just kidding... but you are a really wonderful home-maker!!
