Christmas Overload

I guess it is about time that I post my Christmas Pictures...

Wednesday I spent most of the day baking pumpkin bread. I made 7 loaves and only have 2 loaf pans so it took me most of the day to bake them all. I took them down to the Wallin Christmas on Friday and they were really good. Ricky said he wants me to have pumpkin bread all the time.
Christmas day we went to Ricky's parents house and had brunch around 10:30am. All the food was so yummy and I think we want to make Christmas brunch a repeat tradition. After we ate we opened presents. We did only gifts for the kids this year. Chase got a fire truck and a bike with training wheels. he was pretty excited about both. Joanna got some really cute outfits from Patty and Alma.

After we opened presents we went to visit Ricky's Grandparents for about an hour and then all went to our own houses to take naps. After we all woke up we went back to Ricky's parents house and had pizza for dinner and spent the rest of the afternoon together.
Friday morning we left fairly early and drove down to my parent's house in NJ. We all ate around noon and that was delicious too. We had turkey and Cornish game hens and a ton of other really good stuff. I think one of my favorite holiday traditions is reading the Christmas story from the Bible and singing a song before we eat. Christy also made a very nice toast for us about how lucky we are to have the wonderful family that we do, I concur. After all the feasting we opened gifts. This year we still exchanged names but said we could only buy gifts from a thrift store and it could be a funny gift so that was a lot of fun.
Around 3:00pm we all left for a hike at Laurel Acres park. Another one of my favorite Christmas traditions is our hike. I was so happy that we could go for one and the weather was nice for it. We all had a lot of fun.
Yesterday we went to the Yoder Christmas. We didn't stay very long for that because we were pretty much Christmas'ed out at that point. It was nice to see some cousins who I hadn't seen in a very long time.
This morning Chase woke up with a really horrible sounding cough and is pretty sick so we weren't able to go to church this morning. I was really sad to miss church but kind of relieved to be able to take it easy and clean my house a little bit. Ricky has been organizing all his hunting things last night and today and it looks like I am going to get my laundry chute back! Yeah! Oh, Joanna is painfully close to crawling, she actually crawls backwards and yesterday she sat herself up for the first time.

It's funny how mothers are. We are so anxious for babies to crawl and walk and everything and too soon our baby isn't a baby any more. Joanna is so cute and Chase is precious. The way he came to me and gave me a hug. I think he knows me.

Was wonderful to see you again. How are you gonna have pumpkin bread year round? Did you can/freeze pumpkin too? I love the thrift shop gift idea. That had to be fun.

All of that pumpkin bread looks delish! And I can't believe Joanna is so close to crawling! It seems like she was just born! Glad you had a Merry Chrismtas!
