Racing Rugrats and Meeting Riley Cote

This weekend is Terre Hill Days around here so this morning we woke Chase up early, put his sneakers on him and took him over to the kids' 1/2 mile fun run that started around 8:15am. He had done it last year too and was excited to run again this year. He came in last again but he ran the whole time!

Stretching out before he runs- what an athlete! :)
At the starting line with mommy. I ran with him again this year.
Most definitely his favorite part about racing- the watermelon and Gatorade he gets at the end.
I love this little guy so much. I was originally planning on running the 5 mile adult race but I haven't been able to run the last few weeks because of working and the funeral, etc, so that was disappointing. We've been doing interviews this week at work though so hopefully I'll soon be able to get back to my schedule and train for that 1/2 marathon.
Hanging out after the race.
Dominic is on the left and the other boy with them is Chase's 2nd cousin who came in second.
Can you see how cute Joanna is with her pigtails and new bangs? Actually her bangs got a little short but she's still so stinkin' cute :)
So this afternoon we all drove up to the Wyomissing Mall to meet Riley Cote of the Philadelphia Flyers. He was there from 1pm-3pm signing autographs so Ricky decided he wanted to go meet him. Ricky has said before that he thinks Riley is his favorite Flyer, he was so excited he was just pacing around the house and yard until it was time to go. Riley Cote is considered a fighter and a tough guy but he was really nice and talking to the kids and just very friendly. Hmm, he doesn't look that big standing next to Ricky, does he?
Chase was being weird and had no idea what was going on... oh well I guess we didn't go for that kid.
I think we are going to more of Terre Hill Days this evening but the kids are napping right now so I should try and get some things done.
Oh also a little side note- some of you, who watch TV, might find this interesting. Ricky has been working in Mt. Joy and Thursday he said his flagger saw Kate Gosselin (of John and Kate plus 8 on TLC) drive through their pattern twice. I told him he should have tried to get her picture and make some money off of it since they've been in the tabloids so much. Anyway, that's all, I just thought it was funny.

Hey Amy, Glad you liked my blog and commented. I sometimes feel no one reads it if there are no comments, but maybe I am just not very interesting. Joanna looks cute with her little pig tails. Of course Chase is cute too. Why wouldn't they be cute- just look who their parents are!! Grandma

You are right! Joanna is stinkin' cute! I can't wait to see my little girl. I can understand why Chase might come in last at the "fun run..." he looks like the youngest little kid there and I can't believe a 3 year old can run for a 1/2 mile without stopping! By the way, I like your hair in your last pic...did you get your bangs cut?

I didn't get a haircut but I really need one. The amazing thing to think about is that Chase ran that race last year in diapers! He's awesome :)

Even if you don't watch TV I don't know how you couldn't know who Jon and Kate are. All you have to do is go to the grocery store and read the tabloids. I knew they lived out there somewhere. That is funny that they saw her.

Go Chase! What a cutie! Was he the youngest one running?

Christy, I thought everyone would know who she was too but I told 2 of my co-workers about it and they had no idea who she was. I think Chase was the youngest one again this year.
Dawn- I can't wait to see your little girl too :)
