What the End of the World Looks like...

Last Friday Morning we all piled into the truck and headed out to World's End State Park in PA. It's a really beautiful park in the Endless Mountains regions of Pennsylvania and close to Rickett's Glenn SP. We got there late in the afternoon because we kinda just took our time driving up there. We set up camp and just checked out the park.
They were pretty nice campsites...
We were right across from the bathrooms which I actually wanted (with 2 little ones, let me tell you, that is convenient)
I was amazed at how nice the bathrooms were, they were definitely the cleanest
ones I've ever seen at a campsite.
On the other side of us was the road and then beyond that the Loyalsock Creek. We were a little unsure about being next to the road like we were but it turned out to not really be a factor as it was not busy and no cars went by at night.
Can you guess what the kids' favorite activity was while we were camping? Hiking...no, swimming... no, playing in the truck... of Course!
What funny kids.
Saturday morning we got up and drove to Knoeble's Grove. Ricky's work was having their annual company picnic there again this year. They very generously buy us gobs of tickets to use on the rides too. We had a ton left over and gave them to some very grateful people on our way out. We got to the park around 10:30am and I think Chase went on every kid ride there.
Getting ready to ride the train...
(Joanna had fallen down our porch stairs on Thursday evening, which is the reason why it looks like she was mauled by a bear)

Bumper cars
The bumper cars were funny, I guess Chase is still a little small for them because he just drove around in a circle the whole time and kept getting in other kid's way, oops:)
Chase loves these firetrucks. He actually remembered them from last year and asked about them as soon as we got to the park. He was very serious about driving it too, he wouldn't take his hands of the wheel or even look at Ricky or I. "Don't bother me mom, I'm driving my firetruck."
So we met the rest of Ricky's co-workers in the pavilion for lunch at 2:00pm. There seemed to be not as many people there as last year. It is a pretty far drive there for everyone but it's so much fun. Oh, I had had to feed Joanna and they have a nursing mom's room at the park that is so nice. I wish I had taken pictures of the chairs that they had, talk about plush!
After lunch the kids and I changed into our swimsuits and Chase and I went down the log flume! Chase seriously amazes me that he does not get scared on rides like that. The drop at the end seemed almost straight down to me and Chase just laughed and said he wanted to go again. I had wanted to go to the pool with the kids but Ricky was ready to go and the park was getting pretty crowded so we walked out to the truck and as soon as we got in it started pouring down rain. So Ricky knew what he was talking about when he said it was time to go :) We left around 4:00pm, it was a lot of fun. We got back to the camp and hung out in the tent until it stopped raining and then went to the "swimming hole". A park of the Loyalsock creek is dammed off for swimming and let me tell you it is cold mountain water! Chase wouldn't even stick his toe in the water but I went under and swam around for a little just to say I did:) It was very refreshing once I was in and swimming though so that was nice. Before heading back to camp we drove up to the vista and what an amazing view we had from up there!
Beautiful! They say you can see 7 different mountain ranges coming together at this point.
The drive up there was interesting too. It was a single lane dirt road with a drop off on the one side. At one point the drop off was so steep It looks straight down into the river, and no guard rail of course. We were pretty worn out and all turned in pretty early. It rained some more that night but had stopped and dried off pretty well by the time we woke up in the morning. Sunday morning we went for a hike on one of the short trails through the woods. It was chilly too, I had goose bumps and no long sleeve shirt. I was not expecting it to be so cold in the middle of July
My hiking buddies
Chase liked these little bridges.
After our little hike I wanted to drive up to the vista again and see it when it wasn't cloudy. Wow, what a view

The pictures definitely do not do it justice.
So we went back to the camp and packed up. Chase and I walked down to the creek one last time while Ricky packed up the last of our stuff and Joanna napped in the truck. It was a beautiful day and Chase and I laid on a big rock and watched little tiny fish in the water and threw rocks in (of course)
So it was a very nice weekend of family fun time. Although I got poison ivy all over myself somehow. I thought at first it was mosquito bites but Ricky is convinced that it's poison ivy but I have now idea where I would have gotten it from and why I'm the only one with it?! It's mostly on my face too so it kinda looks like acne and is not fun.
As far as this week goes, I've been so busy (and a little stressed). I've already worked 20 hours and I still have to go in for 5 or 6 tomorrow. They are doing interview this week though so hopefully I can soon get back to me "routine" at home. I really miss it. Tuesday night after work the Eberly family had rented a pool for the evening so I went with Chase and Joanna over there. It was a really neat little pool back in the woods and had an awesome kid's wading area
I got to swim a little which was nice. I went off the diving board a bunch of times and there was a tunnel slide too that I went down, it was fun. It was cold though, poor Chase wanted to play so bad but he was shaking and his toes and lips were blue so I had to hold him wrapped up in his towel for a while. I'd like to go back there during the day, it was a really nice place.
Last night, after I got home from work at 7:00pm, I finally tied up all my onions and hung them up downstairs. Its good to get that done but my hands still smell like onions (bleck). Ricky is taking me out to dinner tonight, that will be a nice break. Back to work tomorrow and then Terre Hill Days this weekend. Next week is looking like it's going to be just as busy for me, not from working at the clinic but other stuff.

You got some beautiful pictures of your weekend...maybe I can use some of them as bulletin covers. Good job. And it sounded really fun, too.

Love,
Mom

Ok now I'm jealous! That pool looks like so much fun. Next time I just might drive 4 hours! J
