1. Where is my camera?! OK, I don't think anyone can help me with this one but I am annoyed that I can't find it and have no idea where it might be. I'm also using this as a disclaimer for my not-very-nice photos in this blog post. They were taken with my cell phone :(
2. OK, I know all kids are different but I have a couple sleep questions; When do you give up on nap time, if ever? I've been having trouble getting Chase to take naps lately. He will just lie up in his bed for hours and not sleep but then be really cranky at night. Here he is pretending to sleep:

I'm thinking about turning his nap time into quite time and then sending him to bed with Joanna at 7:00pm.
3. When do kids start going through the night without wetting themselves? Chase still needs a pull-up at night and sometimes for nap time (if he naps). yesterday I got a potty seat for up in his room in case he has to go at night then he doesn't have to come all the way downstairs in the dark, but I don't think he know when he is going.
4. I'm getting ready to work on my kitchen again, I know I already painted the cabinets twice but really the white is not working for me. It shows dirt way to well and the white cabinets and white counter top and white appliances bug me. So I'm thinking grey:
The one on the left is called "Greybeard" and the one on the right is "It's getting late". I think I'm leaning toward the one on the right but am worried it might be too dark, what do you think?5. Last question... I have this large blank wall in my kitchen that I was thinking of stenciling with an inspirational quote or bible verse, any suggestions?

1. Did one of the kids hide your camera?
2. Give him quiet time and put him to bed early. That's what you need to do when they are in that transition stage. Be thankful that he doesn't mind staying up there and not sleeping.
3. I knows some 6, 7, and 8 years old who still need pull-ups. Our kids were all waking up dry at age 2-3 except for Patrick of course. :)
4. Gray will look nice. It is hard to tell in tat picture but I'd say off the top of my head to go for the lighter color. Really dark shows dirt as well so the lighter color but be a happy medium.
5. How about "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God"? You know, something to do with food since it is in the kitchen.
Amy,
1. I don't know where your camera is. :) I lost Kira's swaddler thing and it really bothers me since it was super soft so I can kind of relate but a camera costs way more so hopefully it turns up somewhere.
2. Definitely agree with christy on this one. Even though I don't have an older child, I would give him quiet time and put him to bed when he gets tired/cranky at night, most likely with Joanna.
3. Have no idea about this one!
4. Can't tell from the pic, sorry.
5. I like Christy's suggestion. I also love Proverbs 3:4-5 trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding. Inall of your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
I like the lighter gray. The dark color looks "depressing" to me. About nap time, I think an afternoon "rest" for Chase would be OK and put him to bed early with Joanna. By the way is Joanna still sleeping well at night? The idea of a Bible verse on your kitchen wall is a good one. How about the one of "Children are a heritage of the Lord" and then have a few pics of your kiddos? If you remember I have the one "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" and then my grandkids pics all aound it.
1. Look in your car..don't know if you ever take it in there, but that's the first place that came to my mind.
2. Madi stopped taking naps barely over 2 years of age (Isaac was almost 4)..couldn't make her sleep and she kept walking down the steps telling me she had taken a nap (after sitting in her room for 5 minutes). I started putting her to bed no later than 7:45, and she will sleep almost 12 hours a night (plus it gives me time w/ Daniel w/out the kids at night).
3. Different for every kid, but I would stop him from drinking no less than 45 minutes before bed and make him sit on the potty right before he gets into bed.
4. I'm horrible w/ colors so don't ask me! (Told you I'm still working on my bathroom after 5 years!)
5. I like Christy's suggestion..very fitting to the room.
Good luck!
1. Did you look for your camera under your bed? Or maybe it's under Christy's bed!
2. Everyone agrees with quiet time for Chase and early bed at night. That sounds good. Some kids take naps until they're 5 or 6, other kids never nap.
3. Ask your dad how old he was before he stopped wetting the bed at night!
4. I'm not good with colors on the walls. Personally, I prefer muted, soft and very light colors on the walls, but that's probably "old."
5. stenciling a verse is a great idea - any verse is good - how about this one: "Put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony." ha, ha. That would fit in the kitchen, too!
Love,
Mom
found my camera! I'm embarresed to say where it was... my computer desk drawer. Talk about blond moments! Those are all good suggestions about the verses- I'm going to have to think about it a while- although I think the gluttony one is out, sorry mom :)
Amy, I had to laugh when you tossed your Mom's suggestion about the verse about gluttony for the kitchen. I'm glad you found your camera. Does that mean we are going to get a lot more pics on your blog? You know not everyone posts a comment that reads your blog. Wendell told me last night that he saw Ricky's buck on your blog and he commented about what he saw on mine, including Grandpa's picture. Love, Grandma
