Dawn also lives behind a consignment shop that has a lot of great kids clothes so after lunch we walked over there and I was able to get all the clothes I will need for the kids for this fall/winter/spring. It's a good feeling to have that done and not have to worry about it anymore. I left around 2:30 and both the kids slept the whole way home and I didn't even hit traffic so that was nice.
I think I now have everything that I need ready for Baby3, I just need to clean my house really good and I'll really feel ready :) I got a big box from Diapers.com and made a puppy house for Chase and Joanna which they have been playing with non-stop the last couple days. It's been outside and downstairs and in the kitchen and up in their room and every other room in the house. Who knew a simple box could be so much fun? :)
I had also signed up to get a free nursing cover a while ago and it finally came in the mail the other day. Well, Chase promptly turned it into a super hero cape:

Doesn't he look scary? Joanna was using it turned around as an apron and walking around "cookin, momma, cookin!"
Last night Ricky and I went to an at-home care class at the birth center. the nurse was telling us about how pregnant women can have all sorts of different emotions during their pregnancy.
She said, "Some women are fine and super happy throughout their pregnancy, some women are tired and stressed and miserable throughout, and some women are just all over the place, like a roller coaster."
At which point Ricky bumped me and gave me that look, like, "that's you" and I just had to laugh so hard.
Me? an emotional roller coaster? ha ha! no way! :)
I'm now "full term" and my shorts have disappeared!

I had some on in the morning but when I sat down they disappeared! ha ha. I had my group B strep test on Monday and they also checked my cervix while they were down there (nice, right?) and I was 2cm and 50% effaced. Which basically doesn't mean anything but at least it's something too.
Wednesday night I came to the conclusion that I should seriously try again to get Joanna potty trained. I really think she's old enough and don't think it's right to keep putting it off till a better time. I really don't think there will be a "good time" to do it but I thought this weekend would be as good a time as any since I don't have anywhere to go for a while. So today we went diaper free and by the evening I think she was starting to get the idea. I'm hoping tomorrow will go a little better but I've decided not to be scared of accidents anymore and just do it. She was so proud of herself when she did pee on the potty it was adorable and I cried of course :P
So today I didn't go anywhere and stayed upstairs (close to the bathroom) with the kids all day. Which constituted in me doing a lot of crazy cleaning chores. The kids helped me make a double batch of my energy bars, clean out the hamster cage, trim Jenna's face hair and clean her ears, clean the fish tank, and clean out the fridge really good, oh and clean up the occasional pee puddle. The kids were really good helpers though, Chase actually emptied the whole fridge out by himself! Tomorrow I'm going to try and finish washing all my windows and maybe vacuum and mop although I don't like to do that when it's hot. One more day of this strange heat wave and then it should feel more like fall, we took out the air conditioners last weekend too so I can't find a place to hide from it :( One more day, I should be able to handle that.

I think you're one of those women who has boundless energy when pregnant. Good grief, Amy! Can you fit just one more thing into your days! Whew!
Love,
Mom
Typical of being ready to give birth! Surges of energy and cleaning, etc, etc. At least with the warm weather I have been able to wear shorts for my early morning walk. I'll be so anxious to see your new baby. Love you all, Grandma Yoder
You cried when she peed in the toilet? That definitely sounds like pregnancy hormones to me! :)
I wish I had your pregnancy nesting energy right now. I need to get some serious cleaning/organizing done.
well I wasn't like sobbing or anything but I did get weepy, I usually do when they reach milestones like that... I'm one of "those" moms ;) Plus she was so excited it was too darn cute.
I would gladly give you some of this dumb nesting urge, I'm cleaning stuff that doesn't really need to be cleaned and I can't stop myself! I spent 2 hours today cleaning out the van, I don't think the baby is going to care how clean the van is... sigh.
SO, I get it - I have to be pregnant to have energy - well, guess that ain't happenin!
