Sunday Family Outing

Yesterday morning I asked the kids, "who wants to go to the zoo?"
Katy said, "Oh, oh, I do, I do!"
So we packed everyone up in some warm clothes and headed out to Hersey, PA to go to Zoo America.  Ricky had been gone all day Saturday hunting, so we needed some family time together before he had to go back to work today.
Chase and Joanna like to sit in the back together and Katy looked so cute all bundled up in her pink bear suit... fitting, since one of her many nicknames is Katy-bear :)
We've been to Zoo America quite a few times before but like it because it's nice and small and close by... the drive out there is beautiful too.  Yesterday it just so happened that there were a million girl scouts there on a field trip.  They had various table set up as teaching stations, I think for the girl scouts but we weaseled our way in too :)
Chase touched this little snake but I wasn't fast enough to catch a picture of him touching it.
Joanna respectfully declined.
Trying to catch a glimpse of the mountain lions.
The whole family:
It was a bit chilly but a beautiful sunshiny fall day, and no one complained about being cold.
In the reptile house:
The have lots of snakes there.  And a lot of owls for some reason.
Where the buffalo roam...
This was at another display station and we just so happened to be the only people there at that time so we got a lesson on all the different kind of nests she had. This was a little screech owl that we had to just look at and not touch- he was very cute though and Chase said our next new pet should be an owl and I begged to differ.
The kids fell asleep on the way home and looked so cute.
Everyone is always happy to spend as much time with daddy as possible during hunting season :)

Katy looks so old already!
Love love love the black and white!
if you guys ever come over when Jesse is here, you can get a pic of him (or both) touching a snake. I do not do the snake by myself.
I can definitely tell you had a great time! I want to go to the zoo now!
