The Kids

Saturday we went to the park for an Easter egg hunt for the kids.  They had 4 different sections divided by ages and Joanna was up first in the 0,1 and 2 year old group.  It was so cute to watch them but took a long time for those little kids to pick up all the eggs.  Joanna loved it.

 Running to show her loot:

Chase's group was next and he did a really good job.  There was one time when he and another little girl got to an egg at the same time and he snatched it up first and then offered it to her... such a nice boy :)

they had several hard boiled eggs in with the candy filled eggs and if you got a hard boiled egg you won a monetary prize... the kids ended up getting $4 with their eggs.
After the hunt was over we sat there and emptied all the eggs so we didn't have to take them home. These were all from us!:
The kids had a blast and were so cute

Sunday morning we went to church and then in the evening we had Ricky's family over for dinner.  I hadn't been expecting to host but Ricky's mom was sick and so we switched the location to our house.  So I had to clean the house and prep after church on Sunday.  They all got here around 5:30 and we had a quick egg hunt and then ate a very yummy meal of hamballs, cheesy potatoes, Lima beans, applesauce, bread and strawberry jam, meadow tea and a delicious lemon dessert.
I don't know if you've noticed my new blog header but I think I'm going to keep that one for a while, I'm kind of in love with it.  Joanna has been picking me lots and lots of flowers/dandelions lately and I love it.  I tell her that she can pick as many dandelions as she pleases, and she does! :)
My flowers continue to pop up and bloom and it makes me so happy :)  My clematis vine is 3 times the size as it was last week when I took a picture of it!  and my tulips are looking beautiful:
We've definitely been enjoying this springtime, almost feels like summertime, weather...
So the other day Katy was looking so cute in her little cherry onesie, bib overalls and "I am Loved" button from Grammy and I decided to try and get a good shot of her.  I got some good expressions from her although they are blurry.  I did get a couple winners though.
Here she is blowing raspberries, one of her favorite past times:

more raspberries :P
I love that smile:
Here's a good one:
She loves to laugh:
"Mom, stop taking pictures, please":
And the absolute winner!
What a doll, I love those dimples :)

LOVE the new header. The kids were picking a bunch of dandelions here for me too but they got tired of it. :( Maybe because I seemed to excited about it.

You had hamballs too for Easter? That's what we had at Christian's sister's. I had never heard of them before and was kind of grossed out so I didn't even try them. :)

Chase is so sweet to give that girl his egg. He is such a kind boy!

I love your new header and ALL the pix of the kids. We live in a wonderful time- being able to see the kids develop even though I don't see them very often. I'm so glad you are faithful about your blog. Better than I am! I was to Matt & Cherie's commissioning and still haven't posted. I mowed my lawn last week and plan to do it today again. Keep the news coming!

I would die if the location was switched to my house at the last minute. Love these pics of your babies.

Christy, I can't believe you didn't try the hamballs!!! They are so amazing, I've been looking all over for the recipe and Patty finally found it, I'm so excited. You can make them up ahead of time to freeze too!

I noticed your new header right away! It is totally beautiful. Gracie is always picking dandelions for me too...I need to get a cute little vase to keep them in! What a wonderful Easter you guys had, and little Katie is looking so big and pretty! She seems older (at least in pictures) than Adelaide...I guess mine is just a bit lazy! =P
