Well spring is definitely upon us now, there's no denying it now. we had some beautifully gorgeous days last week and we spent all of them outside as much as possible. Monday it got up in the 70's so we took a walk to the park in the afternoon and met my friend Jess and her 2 kids there. We got back home and were all pretty sweaty from the walk!
Somehow I had convinced my Mom to take off work on Thursday to come up and go with me and the kids to the Lancaster County Flower Show. I was so proud of her for being all spontaneous and stuff :) We walked around there for a while looking at all the displays.
It wasn't as large as I was imagining it would be but it was probably big enough for the kids. After we looked at everything we let them play on the big display swing set and we sat in the sun and chatted.
It was such a nice day. I've been looking for a garden ornament for a section of my flower beds for almost a year now and just could not find anything I liked until Thursday:
They'll look even better once my roses grow up and flank it :)
I had also moved this clematis vine a few weeks ago and it's already sending out shoots, I'm so excited!
I had put these Iris' in last year so didn't get any flowers from them but am hoping I will this year.
Friday afternoon I was able to go get Jenna back from the breeders. I was rediciously happy/excited to have her back home. She seems kind of indifferent but I think she missed us too :P
The breeder said he thinks for sure she should have puppies this time. I'm excited to see what they will look like. He had a couple litters of labradoodle puppies at the time and they were sooooo cute. If he ever remembers to send me a picture of the male I'll share that.
Also Friday, I got myself 4 butterfly bushes and planted them.
The plant in the middle is a bleeding heart bush.
Do you think they are too close to the house? Ricky and I disagree about this, what do you gardening experts think?
I'm planning on making the front beds a little smaller and then hoping I can convince my mom to come up again and help me finish landscaping :)
And then, Friday night we went to Dominic's school for an Academic fair that they were having. Each grade had a different theme project that they had worked on. Dominic's class had done different countries and he had Jamaica, of course :) He was pretty excited that we were able to make it and very proud of his project. Dexter got to be part of the display too!
We walked around to all the other displays and Chase and Joanna really liked looking at everything.
Watching a volcano:Learning about magnets:
The puppies are 4 weeks old now. I'm expecting them to start venturing out of their kennel and playing around soon. They are still pretty timid right now.
And some random Katy pictures again. Sucking the lip:
I also keep forgetting to mention that I started the Couch to 5K program a while ago. Yesterday I completed week3 day2 and am really enjoying the program a lot. I'm hoping to be able to run a race on Memorial day.

It feels so good to be running again. I had started off too fast before and got discouraged so this is a lot better. this week I'm already up to 1.8 mi. running/walking. I usually don't get on the treadmill until the kids nap time but at least I'm getting it done, right? :)

Pretty flowers! Pretty pictures! Looks like a ton of fun, Amy!
(And I want to eat those petit fours next to the tea pot at he flower show!)
Hooray for new life!
I love your garden ornaments! Both of them!
A flower show sounds like fun... maybe someday I'll get to go to something like that!
I love your vases of dandelions on your window sill. Reminds me of my children when they were small bringing those flowers, too. Love your flower show pix and pix of the children.
