Jenna Had her puppies this morning! I was a whole week off in my estimation and wasn't quite prepared for her to have them just yet. She woke me up from pacing around the bedroom at 4:30am so I let her outside to go to the bathroom and then put her in her kennel, still not realizing she was in labor. Around 5:30am I heard her crying and then a little bit later I heard a puppy! It took her a couple hours but she had 8 healthy looking puppies.
I can't believe she had them all in her kennel, It's not what we had in mind at all but I couldn't move her once she started having them, thankfully it worked out. I've since moved her to a much roomier space.
so far she's being a very good mommy, although I occasionally have to move puppies for her. She doesn't mind me handling them at all though.
She had all different colors!
The male we bred her to was black and white spotted so we got several puppies with that coloring.

so the final count is 5 females and 3 males:
3 yellow/white females
2 black and white females and 1 male
and 2 chocolate males
I'm so proud of her, she did a great job.
And while I have you here... Katy is 8 months old today! She's such a big girl. She's started hugging me and ate a whole thing of yogurt the other day :)

You really lucked out with that Jenna. She is such a good dog! I guess she is going o.k. outside then?
Yes she's doing really good out there! I blocked the door so it's like a den for her, then I just have to go let her out every couple hours.
