My New Couch!

Well if you know me, you know I've been wanting needing a new couch for a long time now.  We are pretty stingy when it comes to buying furniture and I don't think we've ever bought anything brand new.  Our sofa in our family room was a gift from our friends Chad and Sheila... they had found it on the side of the road and Sheila recovered some of it for us.  It was kind of a pleather material and did not hold up well with our rambunctious children.  The right side cushion had literally fallen apart.  I had duct taped it to keep the stuffing from falling out and then put a blanket over it that NO ONE WAS SUPPOSED TO MOVE... but of course that didn't happen :P  The blanket would get moved, the duct tape would get peeled back and the stuffing would be pulled out and played with... how embarrassing :P

So for a while now I've been looking for a new couch.  I got it in my head that I wanted a sectional with either recliners or a chaise.  It was frustrating looking because I didn't want to spend over $350 (we need a new couch for upstairs too and I wanted to save the rest of my money for one up there).  Whenever a nice one for under 350 would pop up on Craigslist it would be gone/spoken for in .06 seconds.  The other night a really nice one came up for $175 and I was so excited and wrote them an email ONE HOUR after the ad had been posted.  Well the person wrote back and told me I was the FOURTH person in line but they'd let me know if it was still available at the end of the week, ahhh!  And that is just one example.  So anyway I had been stalking craigslist for any new ads for a while and finally saw this nice sectional pop up for $350.  I emailed her and she said that it was still available if we could get there by 4:30 on Tuesday.  Well it took some doing but we got there and the sofa was awesome, we love it!

It's practically brand new! And hands down the best piece of furniture we've ever owned :P

So now I get to try and look for a sofa for upstairs, hopefully it's not quite the ordeal that this one was :P
