This post is going to be backwards because I am blogging from my kindle while the kids play on the Wild Kratts website. I'm blogging from my kindle and it won't let me move the pictures around.
so all last week was super cold temperatures and we decided to take advantage of that this weekend and went ice skating everyday! I didn't actually have any skates of my own but Ricky sent me to Play it Again Sports Friday to get his skates sharpened and I found some used skates for myself while I was there. it was fun to get back on the ice again but my legs and feet are super sore tonight!
this afternoon we went to a pond not too far away and met our friends Keith and Ronda there.
it was actually warmish today so that was nice. the kids had fun, although the girls get tired of it pretty quickly, Chase didn't want to leave even after 2 1//2 hours out there! He's getting pretty good on his skates too.we took Dominic with us both Saturday and Sunday. he's getting good on his skates as well!
me thinks this boy is going to play hockey, just like his daddy :)
Katy had fun today too. she liked just running around on the ice or being pulled in the sled or just eating snow :P
mason and Katy:
what a cutie!
Caleb and Dominic enjoyed throwing snowballs at people...
there was a bunch of older guys there and they got a little game going...
I kept trying to get a good picture of Logan but he was running around too fast, sorry Ronda! :P
so we had lots of fun tonight! Chase was actually crying real tears because he wanted to keep skating when it was time to leave!
Saturday morning we traded Patty two cute little girls for one big 11 year old boy and went to a pond near our house for a couple hours. there was a guy there taking pictures of this boat thing that looked really cool.
I went and talked to him then and found out that he was the high school wood working teacher and this was a kayak frame that they had built and worked on. it was really beautiful up close. he said he wanted pictures of it before they put the"skin" on it and covered it all up, I didn't blame him!the boys playing hockey again:
I played with them a little too but I like skating around really fast and doing spins more than hockey:P
we had a lot of fun. poor Ricky and I got sore feet pretty quickly and were ready to go home earlier than the boys so we sat in the car and watched them play a while longer.
this big guy sure likes skating...
Friday afternoon we went out too but had taken the girls along and they get cold and tired VERY quickly. poor Katy HAD been happy not two seconds before this picture was taken... she went into the car right after this.
Friday afternoon was pretty yucky, cold windy and snowy.
see, she was happy!
last Thursday the kids' bible club had western night. we helped them get dressed up. Chase was the only Indian but quite the hit. he even had a coyote pelt wrapped around him and wild Turkey feathers on his head... and Joanna just looked super cute :)
they've been working on derbie cars and are going to start racing them this next week.
last Wednesday Ronda and I met at that bounce place in lancaster and let the kids loose for a couple hours. they had a blast!
there was a lot more inflatable structures there but the big slides were definitely a favorite of everyone.
we stayed for a couple hours, ate lunch and then headed home. it was nice to get out of the house for a little, and a super cold day so this was a good activity for us :)
it was a very fun, long weekend. I believe my legs will be sore from all the skating... but it was fun so it's all good :)
