I feel like we're always redoing Chase's room...

Seriously, this is the third post I've had about redoing his room.  I think this time we are done for sure though... until we decided to repaint or put a bathroom in up there or something :P
So his carpet was really disgusting.  It was white and pretty high pile and had lots of gross, mysterious stains on it.  I'd been thinking for a while that I wanted to take it out but then after Christmas Chase got sick and threw up all over it and that pushed us over the edge and we ripped it all out the next day.
I usually tried not to photograph it because it was so gross but you can see some of it in that picture.
It ended up being a very long project but poor Ricky had to work on it in the evenings and weekends so he didn't have a whole lot of time.  We first had to rip out all the old carpet and staples and tacks.

I was surprised that there was white linoleum underneath the carpet!

Ricky was able to find a killer deal on this floor at Lowe's:
Maybe it took so long because we let a 6 year old take measurements?? :P
Getting there...

And all done!
It looks like you could roller blade up there now :P
So much better and cleaner!
Last night we went to Tractor Supply Co. just to walk around and not buy anything and we ended up going home with 6 chicks, 1 blueberry bush, 10 strawberry plants and 1 clematis vine... We are slightly ridiculous.  We got rid of our chickens just a little bit ago and had planned on getting a couple turkeys to put in that pen and raise for Thanksgiving.  Well it turns out that poults are harder to come by than we expected and if we had ordered them from Tractor Supply we would have had to get a minimum of 25!  Umm, no, we don't need that many turkeys... so chicks it is!
The are so cute!
The yellow ones will turn red and be our primary layers.  The black ones are Wyandotte Chicks and we got them just for fun.  We're hoping they're both hens though!
Katy needs to be heavily supervised with them and even then makes me super nervous.  At least they grow up fast!
Right now they're in an old recycle bin in the basement but we're planning on moving them out this weekend.

LOVE the flooring. And that is so sweet that you let Chase help with the measuring. I don't think we would be brave enough or nice enough to do that.

Congratulations on the chicks. They are hard to resist aren't they? :)
