This picture just cracks me up:
Katy didn't want to hold her sign facing out, Chase was off getting changed (or something), and Joanna was all, "what's this kid's problem?"
I sent Katy to her room to calm down and she came down happier and more cooperative after a few minutes. She still didn't want to keep her paper facing the right way though!
So I tried a couple more times with the group shot...
It just wasn't working :P So I gave up on the idea of a group shot with the signs and just did individual shots with them. I still wanted a good group shot though.
This wasn't it:
Nope:
Still no,
Close:
umm, no.
just, no.
sigh...
The sun really wasn't that bad! It was first thing in the morning and you can see that they had their backs to the sun, PLUS they were under the tree! haha! I thought it would help to move locations anyway though...
Better, but only one person is looking at the camera:
Now all three! Aww! This is the one I ended up going with:
So I had my pictures picked out, edited and printed out. Took them off to the framing shop and then had the kids color the wrapping paper for it:
Ricky opened it up on Saturday (I couldn't wait any longer!) and loved it :)
It got hung up in our dining room:
Pretty cute, right?
Friday I took Katy for a little haircut... She was getting a sort of mullet going on.
She was so cute the whole time. The lady kept asking her all these questions and she just sat there grinning and wouldn't answer her :P
It looks almost like a real hair style now! Like we might have actually done that on purpose!
I'm so glad it's growing out :)
Oh, look what I found on my hanging tomato plant!
I can't believe how fast they are growing!
Saturday evening we went to our friends' Keith and Ronda's house to hang out for a little.
They have an awesome tire swing.
and a pond back in the woods behind their house. Katy caught a fish...
and was super excited about it too, haha!
They also have super adorable bulldog puppies right now.
they are so roly-poly and wrinkly and cute!
Sunday morning we left "bright and early" and drove over to York for their Aviation Days. It was so neat!
It was mostly WWII planes. The kids liked this bomber:
you could right up close to all of the planes. you could get a plane or helicopter ride for $35-$40 but we passed. It was fun to watch all the planes going in and out. It was a very happening place!
Where the patient would go:
It's amazing that the paramedics are able to work on their patients in such tight quarters while flying in the air!
the tail rotor
The infamous Red Tails:
There were all sorts of planes there...
this one you could ride for ONLY $329...
We liked the old cars too.
Waiting to go in to our Tuskegee Airmen movie:
Katy didn't make it through the whole movie, so I took her out and watched the planes some more.
We left right after our movie, a little after 1. It had gotten kind of hot and was getting pretty crowded and Katy was starting to lose it :P It was so much fun though. We got home, all took naps, and then went over to Ricky's parents' house and hung out with them for a little.
