Cherry Crest Farm and Strasburg Railroad

October 16th, my friend Ronda and I decided we needed to use our free tickets to Strasburg that we had gotten through our library's summer reading program.  We also decided to go to Cherry Crest Farm first and then catch the train from there after lunch.  Last year we had done the same thing but I guess I forgot how expensive it was to get into the farm I almost left before even going in :/  So it ended up being a kind of expensive day but the kids had fun...
"milking the cow" in Cherry Crest:
 Holding the baby chicks
 They're so fluffy!
a real Conestoga wagon:
 admiring the bees:
Anyone know what kind of vine this is?...
Going on a tractor ride.  We got to go twice around since there was no one else there.
The big bouncy pillow:
We grabbed a bite to eat and then walked down to the strain stop where there is also a very old playground.
 Here it comes!
All of the kids really enjoy the ride.  It's pretty scenery through Lancaster County countryside, that's for sure!
This is what I got when I asked Katy to smile for the camera...
 Such a silly goose.
They take you back to the station at Strasburg where you have to get your tickets and then get back on the train  the other way.  I thought it was neat to see them release the steam from the train:
We rode the train back and then the kids and I left pretty much right away.  It was lots of fun but very tiring, Katy fell asleep in the car on the way back almost immediately!
