July Flowers

Yes, I'm way behind on my blogging.  I have to start somewhere so I will start by typing words for this [super long] post that I've had pictures uploaded to for over a month now :P
I loved all the wildflowers I got this year from that seed packet I spread out this Spring.  I think I'm going to do something different next year but I sure am enjoying them this year...
Katy's dahlia plant started blooming in July and is super pretty. She was very excited about it...
I love how it looks like it's glowing from the inside.
More wildflowers:
The morning glory decided that I needed a bigger trellis for them...
I love having flowers on the windowsill
My Echinacea and Black Eyed Susans decided they didn't want to be seen together this year.
Something was eating my Echinacea too and making them not look so great. I couldn't figure out what it was.
The garden phlox:
I made myself a hanging, potted herb garden. It includes Lemon balm, mojito mint, cilantro, parsley, basil and rosemary, I want to get another 6 next year.
These gorgeous lilies are called "el desperado" and I was very impatient in my waiting for them to bloom but one morning Joanna looked out the window and  shouted, "Mom! your flowers by the road are blooming and they're beautiful!!"  Needless to say we all ran out to Ohh and Ahh over them :P
Ricky's dad gifted this old milk can to me and I love it. He was a little confused to as why I would want this old thing until he saw it after I planted flowers in it :P
The Black Eyed Susans made an appearance at the end of July and are still going strong.
and the garden phlox:
I got this pretty neat plant from the greenhouse and then when I brought it home I realized it didn't have a tag in the pot I had picked up so now I don't know the name of this plant. I think it might be from the sunflower family though, what do you think?
the milkweed that I got early bloomed so prettily.  I haven't seen any monarch caterpillars on it yet but I'm still hopeful!
The hardy hibiscus is so out of control, it's really bugging me. I'm going to try pruning it back a couple times next year and hopefully that will help keep it more compact.
my spirea bush is wonderful this year, as is the crape myrtle.
I really like the fuzzy looking blooms of the Spirea.
