End of September, 2014

Now that the mad rush of the holiday season has subsided I am hoping to be able to get somewhat caught up on here, we are still very busy all the time so we shall see how far I get.  I love looking back at old blog posts and reminiscing though so this must be done!  Here are some random pictures from the second half of September last year.
Tire swing fun and walks to the park... Remember wearing shorts and tank tops?!
Poor Peaches can't go into the park with the kids. She was despondent over it.
But they came out and played with her on the merry-go-round
actually, I don't think that helped her feel better...
I love this picture of Katy telling stories to her big cousin Dominic as we walk home :)
We got a Starbucks put in a mere 15 minutes away and are very excited about it :P
The girls have hot chocolates in case you were wondering.
At the end of September we went to Ronda's dad's house to do grapes with a couple other friends.
We had lots of little people to help...
It was a fun morning and we got a lot done The bees started getting really bad after lunch though and we had to wrap it up.  The other ladies went back the next morning to finish up.
We were able to go to NJ for a visit.  It's always a fun time being with our family.
The Eagles were playing so we watched that game.
Joanna has been getting more and more into the fiber arts.  In this picture she is holding a weaving that she did on a cardboard loom and a crocheted chain.
Chase and I visited a local horse 4H club.  We liked it but have not been back since then because we've been crazy busy!
School is still going well.  Here chase is mapping out different kinds of seals and which oceans they live in:
And it was County fair time!  I took the kids to the rooster/pig chases on Tuesday night and we got to walk around beforehand and look at the animals.
someone let us hold little bunnies. I thought we were going to have to bring one home with us :P
So before we left Ricky told Chase that if he would catch a pig in the chase he would give him $20... of course not thinking he would even get to touch it. There were over 200 kids in Chase's age group, they divided them into smaller groups of about 40 kids, and you guessed it Chase caught the pig! I was so surprised I wasn't even ready with my camera to get his carrying it back to the pen.  He was pretty thrilled though and made me call Ricky right away to tell him to get his money ready, ha ha!
He didn't end up catching the pig in the final heat but he got a ribbon and a free sundae from Dairy Queen, and greasy clothes to show for it :P
We had signed up for a homeschool day at a nearby outdoor camp.  There was archery and a scavenger hunt and field games and zip lining.  It wasn't as much fun as it sounds actually.  There was a lot of sitting around and waiting.
I also hadn't planned on staying all day and Katy wasn't old enough to have been signed up so that was disappointing.
All ready for the zip line:
She looks excited here but when she got up to the jump of spot she didn't want to budge.  I didn't think she was going to do it but the lady up there was really good about talking her through it.
when she got to the second platform she didn't even hesitate in running off into the air :)
After all the kids got a turn they asked if any of the parents wanted a turn... Uh , Yeah I do!!
definitely the best part of the day :)

We also had the kids annual cleanings in September.  The girls were all good and had no cavities but Chase had some more and we have started consultations with an orthodontist now too, oh boy.

We went to a homeschool day at a local camp once where we spent more time waiting and sitting than actually doing stuff. Doesn't really help sell their camp in my opinion.
