I have been trying to give Chase some tips and pointers on photographing birds and he's starting to get pretty good. He told me the other day that he wants to be a nature photographer with me when he grows up. Sounds like a good plan to me!
Some pictures he's taken recently:
Northern Flicker
Purple finch, this one is a bit fuzzy but I like the little birds facial expression :)Flicker again:
Mourning dove:
The other day he came to me all excited and showed me the pictures he had gotten of Red Tailed Hawk that had snatched a Starling and was feeding on it by our back pine trees.
This Mourning dove has been hanging around a lot lately. We think it is the same one that made a nest in our pear tree last spring and are hoping for more babies this year.
The kids have named her Beauty, I think Mourning doves are just so kind and beautiful looking. Chase and I love this picture of her with snow falling:
Dark eyed Junco:
I took these pictures of the Black-capped Chickadee:
SQUIRREL!
Some pictures I took of "Beauty":
Chase wanted to take pictures one day but there were no birds at the feeder so I had him practice on our chickensSilkie hybrid, Sassy:
Black sexlink, Knight:
Barred Rock, Zebra:
And a Nuthatch just "hanging around" :P
I've decided Chase and I are going to make a photo book on snapfish and add little facts or stories about each bird , he's super excited about that idea :)
