I loved how these little needle felted birds turned out. They have Styrofoam cores.
The day after trash day in the beginning of the month it was really windy and a bunch of other people's recycling ended up on our yard. Chase found a box and we decided to make a knight helmet out of it.
Cut and got glued it together and then spray painted it:
He was pretty happy with it and then proceeded to make himself a whole "suit of armor"
Too scary :P
He's actually taking a class at co-op about knights and wore his whole outfit that week and have a little presentation in on his class.
My friend told me about this craft re-use it shop in Lancaster so I decided to check it out and was so excited about all of the treasures I found! The yarn is all 100% wool, a big bag of roving and lots of Styrofoam eggs all for $18!
Of course all my kids found treasures too. Chase got this book but sadly we could not figure out how to fold the planes right :(
I also found a pattern for an egg collecting apron on FB and decided to make a smaller version for Chase, since that is part of his chores.
It holds 10 eggs and he loves it! He said, "it's so awesome mom, thankyou!" :)
Another felting project, apparently I'm really into birds this month...
I knitted the pouch first and then wet felted it, shaped and dried and then needle felted the design on top and sewed the zipper in.
The kids all decided they wanted me to make them each a bird. Joanna picked a bard swallow which proved to be very difficult for me.
I am not happy with how the face turned out but also not sure how to fix it either :(
I'm working on a Blue Jay for Katy now.
