It's Not Easy Being Awesome

I, of course, am not referring to myself in the title, being awesome comes very easily for me ;). I am referring to my beloved Walmart. Sunday was such a beautiful day so we decided that we wanted to go on a family bike ride after the kids woke up from their naps. We hadn't yet gotten a bike trailer for the kids because I had wanted to try and find a used one on ebay or craigslist but hadn't been able to find anything, so Ricky ran out to Walmart and got one for around $90. Usually we read reviews on big purchases like that but didn't this time. After the kids woke up we piled everything and everyone into Ricky's truck and went to that park in Shillington that I had gone to with my parents. Ricky set up the trailer and attached it to his bike and I put the kids in and became very worried for their safety.
Notice Chase sliding down, and there was hardly any room for the two of them. I think there may have been something that we could have adjusted to make it so they wouldn't slide down like that but really the whole thing was a piece of junk, the whole frame was bent and rocked from side to side and it was all made of plastic so Ricky was having a really hard time pulling them. We only went a couple miles before we gave up.
Ricky thought he might be able to fix it but I said there was no way and I was taking it back. So maybe walmart isn't always awesome (no comments from the peanut gallery, thank you very much). However they took it back with out any hassle, if that was Target I would have to jump through hoops to get them to take it back.
we saw this blue heron on our ride. After our ride we took a little walk around the park and passed by this cute little stream that was being fed from a spring house.
It kind of reminded me of the book Watership Down, I'm not sure why, but I had to take a picture.
Tuesday, I took the kids, dogs and puppies down to my parents house in NJ. If you want to hear what that was like you can read my mom's post about it. I might get stressed out just talking about it. I sold one of the puppies while I was down there.
I will say, about our trip, that I put a pull up on Chase for the ride home and that worked out a lot better. I guess the trip is just too long for his little bladder.
Wednesday I had a lot of catching up to do but I was still able to go get adjusted and take that trailer back to Walmart. In the afternoon I looked at Craigslist again for a trailer and found one that I thought looked nice. It's older but there are no problems with it and it's a really top of the line one (a Burley). So yesterday i went to go look at it and bought it for only $10 more than the junkie Walmart one. It is an all aluminum frame which will make it easier to pull and it is also a double jogging stroller! I am super excited about that because I have been wanting a jogging stroller for a while now. So hopefully Sunday we'll be able to try it out.
Yesterday after we got home from getting the trailer I discovered that Mishti just started her heat so hopefully we'll have more puppies in a couple months, yeah!

I'm so proud of you for admitting to the fact that walmart sells JUNK. :) At least they do have a great return policy.
You'll love that Burley. We actually have two but not the stroller type. They are so easy to pull. We got one at a yard sale for $20 and it looked really new. I don't think the lady knew how much it was worth because we actually talked her down in price. She said somebody gave it to her and she never used it. I felt so sneaky. Have fun biking.

I hear those Burley trailors are good! Mike and I bought a double-jogging stroller last month and it has revolutionized my life ;) Have fun biking!
