Yesterday was the first day of Spring, Hooray! Ricky took Chase up to the farm show complex in Harrisburg to a Monster Truck show! Chase was beyond excited and Ricky was really happy to be able to do a Father/Son day with his little buddy. What a redneck thing to do, right? Oh well, maybe we are, so what? :)
This afternoon we all piled into the car and drove over to French Creek State Park. We wanted to see if Jenna would swim. She is 7 months old now and not had an opportunity to swim at all so we didn't know how she would like it. It took some coaxing at first but she took to it very well and was swimming out fetching sticks and jumping off the dock after not too long. I wish I had taken a video of her though because it was pretty hilarious, she kept kicking her front legs so high that she was splashing like crazy. She was so worn out and slept the whole way home. While I'm talking about Jenna... here is one of the kids favorite games lately:
You can't tell in the first two pictures but Joanna is in there too! They are pretending to be ferocious lions.
Doesn't he look so scary?!
One of my most favorite pictures I think.

When we got back from French Creek Ricky said he wanted a haircut. Finally! He had been growing it out all winter and it was pretty unruly.

So much better. Chase had to get a haircut too of course and when I was cutting it we found a pretty big cut on the top of his head and a tick behind his ear! His hair was pretty long too but not as unruly as Ricky's because he actually let me trim around his ears and neck, unlike my most stubborn husband :) Two of the yorkies and Jenna are going for haircuts on thursday this week too so I'll have to post before and afters for them then.
This evening we had Ricky's family over for dinner. Unfortunately Patty was sick and not able to come but Dexter and Dominic were able to eat and fellowship with us. Ricky got up early this morning to start his Apricot Glazed Pork Roast in the crock-pot. All day it smelled so good in our house and by the time we had dinner it just fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. Sadly we ate the last of our pork roasts tonight and will definitely miss them, they were sooo good. I made potatoes, salad, corn and meadow tea to go along with the roast and Patty had sent over a cheesecake for our dessert. It was quite the feast. We were celebrating Ricky's parents anniversary tomorrow, they will be married 35 years! What a blessing they have been in our lives too. Joanna and Chase just love their "Meemaw" and "Pop-Pop".

I just wanted to congratulate you on baby #3. I am so excited for you. I just saw your poll so I. Go vote :) God Bless! Shannon E.
Thanks Shannon! Vote away :)
Sounds like a fun weekend! Isn't FCSP fun? Love the picture of the kids in the kennel where you can just see Joanna's eyes - too cute!
Alison, It took me a little bit to figure out what you meant, I kept thinking, "FCSP, FCSP, what is FCSP?" Haha! I'm a little slow sometimes :) I do love French creek. It's not that far from us, on a good day 20 minutes. I used to go once a week, hiking, or mountain biking and always love it. I like going up to scotts run lake because there's never anyone on the trails up there.
Your pork roast with apricot sounds delicious. Do you use real apricots or apricot jam? Ricky came in to the office on his rainy day on Monday. I love it when he stops in and chats with me a little. Grandma
he uses apricot jam. we used the jar you gave us the one time and it was extra delicious :)
Nice hair cuts! I am always so happy when Christian finally cuts his hair. Maybe that is why he waits so long. I wouldn't care so much if he did it regularly. :)
