This past Sunday we went to Landis Valley farm and Museum for their annual harvest days festival. We had gone last year and had a lot of fun so we invited our friends Keith and Ronda to come with us. It was a lot of fun and a beautiful day for it as well. We started off with a wagon ride around the whole place.
after the wagon ride we got some home made ice cream and then went to watch the blacksmith a littleThis guy was carving a beam and had about 10 different axes, all with different purposes of course, and very sharply honed. It was interesting to watch.
We found the children's tent and Joanna quickly ran out to the field to pick her pumpkin:
She was determined to carry it all by herself, and of course was very dramatic about it all :P
and face painting:
Katy sat very still!
Joanna got a little piggy, not sure what made her think to ask for a pig but it turned out cute :)
I always thought this corn kernel sandbox seemed like a neat idea. It seems like it would be not as messy as a sandbox, but then I guess you would attract squirrels galore into your yard. And plus, Katy was kind of freaked out by the feel and didn't want to put her feet in it... I guess I won't make Ricky change out the sand for corn kernels after all :P
after the kid tent we went to get some funnel cakes and lemonades and then went back to our house for a campfire cook out and hanging out. It was a very fun day!

It looks like you all had a blast! I'm impressed that Katy sat still to get her face painted - I know we'd never get that result here lol!
