Hawk Mountain Sanctuary

November 13th 2014 We went with a homeschool group to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.  It was one of my favorite field trips so far! We left a little early and made a pit stop at Cabela's before hand.

We got there and listened to a talk for an hour. Chase got called up and made into a raptor which was pretty funny.

Katy wasn't into the talk so I sat in the back with her.

Chase felt pretty silly :P
We walked around the place for a while after the talk.
After everyone had a good look around we went out for a hike to see if we could spot any raptors. Unfortunately it was not raptor weather and we didn't see any birds. We enjoyed ourselves anyway though!
Beautiful panoramic views!

We decided to hike to a second overlook and saw some deer up close and personal!

The second overlook was just as pretty!

We started hiking back down and the clouds started moving in.

The first flakes of the year!
When we got back to the first overlook you couldn't see out anymore because of the storm clouds, it was so strange! Trying to catch snow flakes:
